The Office/Maintenance Facility, consisting of approximately 25,000 square feet, was designed to blend in with mountain surrounding and molded to fit the slope of the site. The facility was designed to be a LEED Certified structure with an active solar collection system, water collection system, bus wash recycling system and state-of-the-art HVAC system.
This private country club in Avery County has always enjoyed outdoor gatherings and dining. Until the completion of this large timber structure covered patio addition, the frequent summertime rain showers and cooler temperatures often derailed many outdoor functions. The dining space and bar area features large windows to enjoy scenic views, a gently flowing waterfall, heavy timbers, wood flooring, open flagstone patio, as is surrounded by the main clubhouse and beautiful golf course fairway.
This approximately 18,000 square foot structure includes administrative offices, service areas, interior common space, and emergency, transitional, and permanent housing. The facility provides shelter, hunger relief programs, and many other services to individuals and families in need of a safe, nurturing and healthy environment to help them rebuild their lives.
This fire station serves the northern reaches of the Town’s jurisdiction. The lower level has 3 apparatus bays and the upper level consists of bunkroom/bath, toilets, kitchen, living, dining and control/observation room. Built in 2017, this building was designed to resemble the many Parkway barns and outbuildings located along that north-south corridor. It was also designed to follow the natural lay of the sloping lot, allowing for a high ceiling in the bay area and more modest ceiling heights in the living quarters upstairs. Built of natural looking, virtually maintenance free materials, and up to date building operation systems, this facility offers peace and comfort to the community.
This facility provides a large, open-air gathering space for local citizens to enjoy the striking and beautiful views of Grandfather Mountain, while enjoying the friendship of their neighbors. The Center includes basketball courts, volleyball courts, multiple classrooms, and a central hall for festive gatherings, and business retreats.
