This home, with design inspiration from owner/interior designer, is an original adaptation of the homes in Blowing Rock, North Carolina she knew as a child. The log timber work and bark siding, along with the many details and other interior and exterior materials, help to give this home the character and style she desired. Situated on a mountain ridge with sweeping views, the home offers an open floor plan and large outdoor living spaces including a large covered deck with fireplace and a large expanse of open deck to enjoy the cool summers and peaceful mountain surroundings.

Red Roof House

Nestled into the surrounding hillside, this beautiful home has open views to majestic Grandfather Mountain and beyond. The open floor plan allows the owner, family, and friends to enjoy evenings in front of the great room stone fireplace; while the large expanse of windows and doors help to frame the westerly, long-range mountain views. The spacious outdoor covered, and open decks give ample room for large and small gatherings to enjoy the cool summer evenings high in the treetops.

This craftsmen style residence, built in Hickory, North Carolina on an open and gently sloping terrain, captures the look and majesty of a former time using natural materials. The owner wanted the plan to be as open as possible with the stone surrounded swimming pool as a primary focus.
